Abstract

The study explored the impact of technology-driven management information systems (MIS) on the administrative effectiveness of primary schools in Kwara State using a descriptive survey design, guided by four research questions and one hypothesis. The population included all primary schools, while 300 school administrators were randomly selected from the three senatorial districts as the sample. Data were collected using a researcher-designed instrument, the Technology-Driven MIS and Administrative Effectiveness Questionnaire (TMISAEQ), which was validated by experts in Primary Education and Educational Technology, while its reliability was confirmed using Cronbach Alpha with a coefficient of 0.86. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, and ANOVA was applied to test the hypothesis. The findings revealed a high level of MIS adoption and effective utilization in enhancing administrative functions, leading to the conclusion that technology-driven MIS positively influences administrative effectiveness in primary schools in Kwara State. Based on this, the study recommended continuous training for administrators and staff to improve digital skills, the implementation of a standardized MIS platform for consistent data management, and the provision of essential infrastructure such as stable electricity, internet connectivity, and adequate computer systems to support effective MIS usage across both urban and rural schools.
